Airship Technologies
Airships are simply a great way to deploy communication and imaging equipment. At General Orbital, we have designed Airship systems that provide a platform at stratospheric altitudes.
These platforms could be operated on a permanent or temporary basis covering altitudes from 60,000 to 100,000 ft. Our Airships are designed to stay at a fixed point above the Earth.
For communications the General Orbital Airship is a very cost effective alternative to geosynchronous satellites. Likewise for many observation applications the ability to continuously observe a specific area makes our Airships a better solution than low earth orbiting satellites.
